Macramé for Beginners

Macramé is having its moment!  Macramé its one of the most ancient art forms we know of, dating back to 13th century Arabia. It’s done by hand, by weaving threads or cords together into simple or intricate, knots. Macramé has increased hugely in popularity in recent years and in used in interior design, jewellery and even clothing. 

Learn how to make a macramé wall hanging in this fun and interactive class. Over the duration of this class, you’ll join other macramé beginners, and you’ll be taught by our highly-experienced teacher.

You’ll also:

  • Gain a good understand of basic macramé knots and be able to practise them
  • Learn how to combine square knots and half square knots to create different effects
  • Learn how to anchor your macramé project using a larks head knot

The materials for your wall hanging are included in the cost of the class.

At the end of the class, you’ll be on your way to completing your wall hanging, be able to tie a range of basic knots and combine them to create stunning effects, have the confidence to start your own macramé projects and experiment with different knots.

Suitable for: Complete beginners

Duration of Class:  2.5 hours

Fee: £49

Location: Islington, London

Equipment and Guidance Notes: Macrame materials are included as part of the cost of the class. A set of ‘how to’ notes will be emailed to you after the class.

Refreshments: Tea and coffee facilities will be available throughout the class

Cancellation policy: We will be happy to refund your payment in full if you inform us of your cancellation 5 or more days before the class is due to take place.
